Present Memory: A Guided Meditation

We come from generations of people who hummed themselves to soothe, to be in harmony with each other, and to resist handing over their wholeness, their whole being, to violence. We hum to find joy, to be loving with each other, to make the long hours feel a little shorter. Present Memory is a guided meditation for bringing yourself back into the present using voice, sound, and conscious rest.

The meditation will last about 50 mins. It will start with a grounding breath/introduction and move into a breath exercise, then guided humming, all of which may be best practiced sitting upright. We will then enter into deep rest accompanied with sound and verbal prompts from me, which can be received lying down, like an extended savasana.

We’ll end with a brief outro with no expectation for you to exit savasana. There will be a definite end and I will turn off the zoom without much conversation so that you can continue the rest of your night with the resonance of the practice.

Donations are welcome, but not required. Venmo (@anickaaustin), cash, or zelle (anickaaustin@gmail.com).

*The meditation will start at 7:05pm. After that, I will not be able to let anyone into the room.
